Communicating Science With Accuracy, Clarity, Sophistication and Flair

I help organizations and individuals effectively disseminate science that matters.

Hi, I’m Neil!

I am a veteran science writer, journalist, editor and overall science communications expert based in New York City. I help organizations and individuals who care as much about science as I do to disseminate the scientific knowledge and information that they value the most.

I know that success at science communication can be elusive:

  • It’s difficult to find people who not only understand science at a sophisticated level but who can also write well

  • It’s hard to find good editors who can take a mediocre piece of writing and turn it into something great

  • It’s challenging for scientists to communicate their research to other investigators and to the public

  • It’s a herculean task to build a new publication into an established leader

I can help you overcome all of these and other challenges.

Currently the Executive Editor of the Migraine Science Collaborative, and formerly Executive Editor of the Pain Research Forum, I have over two decades of experience disseminating knowledge of science and medicine to expert researchers and the public alike.

I have expertise in a variety of formats:

News, feature articles, plain language summaries and more

Interviews, podcasts, and webinars

Science communications training

Literature reviews and journal articles

…and much much more.

I’ve built fledgling scientific publications into the gold standard in their field, and I can do the same for you.

I can help you:

  • Create written or multimedia content from scratch

  • Improve content you already have

  • Teach you to become a better communicator

  • Take your publication to the next level

  • Organize/host a scientific event
